The best nature reserves in Sicily to visit with children

Sicily is quickly becoming one of the top destinations to visit in the Mediterranean. The majestic island is home to some of the most beautiful nature reserves and has one of the most diverse landscapes on the planet. This makes it one of the best places to take a family holiday since there are things for the children and parents to enjoy. An agreeable way to spend your holidays with your children could be to book a villa with a pool to relax in Sicily . Then you can take day trips to some of the most incredible natural reserves and enjoy the most relaxing vacation of your life.
One of the most unique places in Sicily is Mt. Etna. This active volcano will surely wow the kids, especially if they get to witness it erupting. The volcano is also surrounded by an immaculate nature park where the whole family can go hiking or take an amazing guided tour on horseback or even on donkeys! Be sure to take the kids on a torch-lit tour of some of the lava caves or one of the jeep safaris. The views here are incomparable and will surely give you some great memories along with the most beautiful backdrop for a family Christmas card!

In the Nebrodi mountain range there is the Castello di Sperlinga that dates back to the age of the Normans. This castle is built into the mountain slope and extends over several floors with stables, prisons, and weapon forges. This is a great place to bring children to get an educational tour and to run around some incredible ancient sites!

For the hot summer months there is the Parco Avventura Madonie, an adventure park which is essentially a playground in the woods. The parents get to enjoy the shaded woods while the kids play on the ropes course and have the time of their lives. They will never forget the natural playground and may even tire themselves out so you can enjoy a relaxing evening at your villa. Sicily has all the ingredients for a memorable family vacation.
