My future plans for our new Home

It's hard to believe that a year ago today we received the keys to our new Home, i remember how excited we were to show the children our new home as they hadn't yet seen it. I was so excited to see them running upstairs and exploring their new bedrooms and running outside into the Garden for the first time.
We had moved from our first home, a new-build that we had been in since it was built 8 years ago! We thought coming from such a new and fresh house would spoil us and that we would have to spend a few grand upgrading things in the new house, i had plans to knock down the built-in wardrobes in the bedrooms before the keys were handed over! I thought they took up too much space.
When we went back to the House after only viewing it furnished, we were surprised at how much bigger it looked and how modern it was! Everything was in such immaculate condition, the kitchen is so modern and Matt and I couldn't believe that the notes said it was fitted 8 years ago!

We didn't end up knocking down the wardrobes! The children loved having their own space and they were so roomy, perfect for storing their toys so we decided to keep those.
One year on and we haven't changed anything in the house, it didn't need painting either but we did get painters in just to freshen it up.

The only room in the house that i feel needs to be updated is our main bathroom. The bathroom has some lovely mirrors which we have kept. It has a bath, a separate shower, a basin, and a heated towel rail. It's a lot nicer than the bathroom in our previous home and it feels a lot roomier but I would love to have a new bath and basin fitted before this time next year. It hasn't been much of a priority as we have an on suite bathroom that Matt and I use mostly, which means the main bathroom is mostly used by the children and they are happy with it how it is!

I have slowly started to browse the internet for ideas of what i might like to get as the Bathroom isn't huge I thought there probably wouldn't be much choice, I was surprised to find so many different ideas for smaller bathrooms and it doesn't cost a fraction of what i thought it would! I didn't know there were so many different styles of Baths, and i never thought about how much room we will gain in our bathroom if we get a bath fitted with a shower rather than a shower cubicle. We could save room even by replacing the Bath with a corner Bath, i really like these! I'm now really excited about our bathroom update, now all that is left to do is to convince Matt that we DO need to update our Bathroom soon! Wish me luck! Be sure to read my Remodeling your Home tips which i recently posted.

  1. Hope you get to update your bathroom. We renovated our tiny bathroom on a teeny budget when we first moved into our home eleven years ago opting for a combined bath/shower and it is still looking great.

  2. Thanks Karen! :-) hopefully once we update it we won't need to do it again for a long time!

  3. Well written post. I will also try to make all future plans to move a new house next month. Thanks for sharing with us. Keep it up and upload more stuff.
