How sporty are your family?
Sports, Love it or Hate it?
Sports, it's something i'm not too familiar with! I haven't grown up in a sports loving family and to be honest i always hated playing ball games in P.E at school! That's not to say that i'm an un fit person though, I loved gymnastics, i also did karate and dancing. I loved cycling and still do!
These things aren't really the first thing that come to mind when you think "sports" are they?
My girls seem to be very much like me as a child, they are into Ballet and Gymnastics, they love to ride their bikes around. But unlike me they attend a very "sporty" school. Amelie practises Tennis each week with school, as well as regular P.E lessons. I don't think she is loving it but she hasn't complained too much about it!
So what about when my little chap gets older, is he going to be sports crazed? He is already showing signs of football obsession and he's not even 2 yet! Am i going to go from nice warm sitting in a Ballet studio mum to freezing cold sitting in a field watching football mum?! How much is sports going to change my life when my little boy starts to grow up?
I have decided to start taking sports a little more seriously now that i have a little boy, after all, some sports can be fun and not just for boys!
Next sports day at school i plan to get a lot more involved, maybe i will even win the parents race?! I really should get practising soon!
After only scoring 4/8 on this mini Sports Quiz i figure i will stick to being a Ballet mum for now and learn more about Sports as and when I need to :-)
I can't ever see myself watching a football game on tv and actually caring about which team win, that just isn't me! However, i think Tennis looks quite fun and with a LOT of practise maybe i might like to start playing it at our local Tennis courts with the children.
It can't be that hard, can it?!
So that's us, not a very sporty family at all but definitely a fit and healthy family who enjoy many outdoor activities. How sporty is your family? Do your children play sports outside of school?
I would love to hear from other Mums and Dads about this topic :-)
