Thomas & Friends™ invites toddlers across the UK to cinemas this summer to see an exclusive film from everyone’s favourite blue engine, which includes voices from some of the UK’s biggest film stars.
Eddie Redmayne, Olivia Colman and Sir John Hurt lend their voices to a legendary, must-see film about the triumph of friendship that is sure to keep all members of the family on the edge of their seat. The feature length movie, Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure, sees the little blue engine and his friends embark on a spectacular new adventure scouring the Island of Sodor for lost treasure.
In its biggest cinema release to date, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Thomas & Friends™, the 60-minute film is the perfect event for toddlers this summer, offering an exciting first cinema experience. With an enchanting storyline to spark their imaginations and a sing-a-long to get them on their feet, Thomas & Friends™ is sure to be a hit at cinemas across the country.
Voice of new character Skiff, Jamie Campbell Bower, commented: “I’m thrilled to be a part of this project. I grew up with Thomas & Friends so it’s been really exciting to be able to get involved in this new feature special and voice the character of Skiff. It is a great show to be involved in and incredibly fun to record. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first animation and I look forward to everyone seeing the end result.”
James Dobbin, Head of Event Cinema at National Amusements, who is distributing the film, comments: “What’s great about Thomas & Friends™ on the big screen is that we are offering children what may potentially be their very first cinema experience. Pre-schoolers are often not catered for in cinemas but we know that parents of this age group are always looking for something fun to do with their little ones, so we’re excited to be able to provide a brand new adventure for families all over the country this summer.”
The film will air across cinemas in the UK, including Showcase, Vue, Odeon, Cineworld and a selection of independents, from the 17th July until 1stAugust. For full listings visit http://
