Outdoor Fun to Keep Kids Fit - Part 1

This summer i really want to get my kids more active outdoors. As we don't live near our school we miss out on walking or scooting to school like many children do. Although the girls do a lot of Dance classes after school, they don't really have much to do out doors to keep them active. Lottie would rather sit and watch a DVD for hours on end than go for a long walk.
So what can we do to encourage our kids to be more active?  I have decided that in order to get my kids off the sofa and outside it needs to be something FUN as well as FIT!

We were recently sent this amazing Globber Scooter to review. Perfect for my new challenge!
What i love most about this Scooter is that it can be used by all 3 of the kids as it grows with the child.

The scooter was really easy to assemble, it took me about 10 minutes to put together, which is great when you have 2 very impatient little girls who just can't wait to try it out!

This is the Scooter stage, the handle bars can be higher for an older child.
The scooter is controlled by the child, to turn Left the child needs to lean slightly over to the Left, and the same for the Right. The brakes are situated on the back wheel. Simply tap the back wheel cover with your foot to slow the scooter down.

This is the Toddler stage of the Scooter, the seat is easily placed on for the younger child. We took the Scooter on holiday with us last weekend. It worked very well for us as our holiday lodge was quite a walk from the entertainment area, too much walking for tired little legs. We took the Scooter out every evening for our 5 year old to be pushed along. She just loved it and it meant that she was much happier on our outings.

We found the scooter really easy to push along, even with the weight of a 5 year old!

Look out for Part 2 of this post to read about more great outdoor equipment to help keep our children fit and healthy!
