Dental Hygiene Toothpaste and Mouthwash Review

                          American Teeth Vs British Teeth

Ricky Gervais is the first to admit that his teeth are neither white nor straight - and Americans mistakenly think he wears bad false teeth for comedic purposes. Why the dental divide?

British teeth are not like American teeth.
Hollywood smiles are pearly white paragons of straightness. British teeth might be described as having character.

Whiter than white, it transpires. Teeth naturally vary in colour and the palette can tend closer to cream than white.

"US teeth are sometimes whiter than it is physically possible to get in nature - there is a new reality out there. The most extreme tooth bleaching is terrifying, it looks like it's painted with gloss paint and has altered what people perceive as normal," says Professor Jimmy Steele, of the School of Dental Science at Newcastle University.
The British traditionally prefer "nice natural smiles - natural in colour", he says, and have had a more functional view of teeth and dentistry, whereas Americans have always seen teeth more aesthetically, hence the rise of the artificial smile in show business and pop culture.

Interesting isn't it?

I myself DO NOT have perfectly even teeth, nor are they "pearly white"  I like to think that one day I would have spare money to spend on dental work but as a mummy of 3 on a child minders wage... sadly it wont be happening in the foreseeable future!

However, there is still plenty we can be doing to keep are teeth clean and shiny!

The first thing on my list would be to start replacing my toothbrush every 6 months with a new one, and maybe even spending a little more money on a really decent one. My dentist always tells me that flossing is important and that i should be doing it more, so that's another thing to think about. I should probably also cut down on my Coffee intake, no matter how much i think i need it, water is good too!!!

There are plenty of natural remedies on the internet, here's some i found worth reading.
  • An apple a day keeps the doctor and the dentist away. They are known to contain malic acid -- which is a chemical actually used in teeth whitening products to dissolve stains.

  • A few vegetables like cucumbers, broccoli, celery and carrots are also natural simple tooth whiteners. Because they're crunchy, they get the saliva going, aiding in lessening tooth stains
  • Rinse with water after eating. Removing any leftover food or residue from your teeth will help prevent stain and decay. This is an especially good idea if you're away from home and can't squeeze in a good tooth-brushing.    Preventing your teeth from discoloration is easier than removing stains, which is why these natural tooth whitening and bleaching techniques are extremely important. Brushing and flossing play a huge (the hugest) role in keeping teeth clean and white. Failing to keep up on these habits allows staining and tooth decay to creep in, both of which cause discoloration.
    • Flossing is just as important. There are stains between your teeth too! And what's more, it promotes gum health as well. If your gums are red and puffy, doesn't matter how white your teeth are.I have been asked to review Beverly Hills formula  BLACK toothpaste. At first I thought this sounded very strange, and i did read over the email just to make sure I read it right!!
When the toothpaste arrived I couldn't wait to try it out. Because it is SO black i expected it to taste really strong, but it didn't! It just tasted like any other toothpaste.
I am really enjoying using it, and have been looking out for it to buy some more as I have become quite addicted to it now!

This is definitely one of the best toothpastes out there. It leaves my whole mouth feeling clean and fresh more so than any other toothpaste.

Available from Superdrug priced £4.99 - 100ml

I was also recently sent some CB12 Mouthwash to review.  I waited for my usual mouthwash to run out before opening this one.
CB12 is a new formula which is clinically proven to neutralise bad breath.
The label says it keeps breath fresh for u to 12 hours.
I decided to use it after brushing my teeth late in the evening right before going to sleep to put it to the test!  I thought if it could prevent me from waking up with a morning mouth then it must be pretty good!

When i woke up in the morning, i didn't have much of a morning mouth at all! I felt really good about this and intended to keep it a secret from Matt, who would ofcourse have morning mouth!!
It was going well until he found my bottle of CB12 hidden in the bathroom cupboard!!

We are now both big fans of CB12!

  5. Firstly you ask to your dental hygienist or dentist about perfect toothpaste. There are available various types of toothpaste in the market but always picks a toothpaste with fluoride to prevent cavities.

  6. My dentist recommended that I use a water pick with mouthwash. I have permanent braces on my top and bottom and it is just too hard to floss in between. I really hope this helps my teeth stay strong.

  7. Since we were children, we have often observed a lot about the value of exercising "good dental hygiene", but it is often believed that we already know what that indicates.
